FAQ’s

How is SMP applied?

During your treatment, specialised equipment is used with pigment designed specifically for SMP to apply microdots to your scalp. This meticulously creates the appearance of hair.

Will the colour look natural?

Yes. The SMP Artist will precisely colour match the pigment to your hair and skin tone to create a result that is seamless in appearance.

Does the colour fade with time?

Yes. Foli Sim only uses the highest standard of pigments specifically designed for SMP. However, with time and sun exposure, the pigment can lighten; this is easily rectified with a touch-up treatment that will have your SMP looking its best again. Following your procedure, it is essential that you take appropriate care of the treated area. We recommend using a good quality sunscreen and wearing a hat; this will ensure your SMP continues to look as originally intended.

Can you create a natural looking hairline?

Yes – in fact, Foli Sim only creates natural looking hairlines! Prior to commencing your treatment, your artist will conduct a comprehensive consultation to understand what is important to you and what you hope to achieve with SMP. Together with your artist, you can design and create a hairline that suits you as an individual. We always recommend a timeless, natural-looking hairline over a ‘fashionable’ style.

How long does a procedure take?

In most cases, 2-4 sessions are required to achieve optimal results. The first two sessions are ‘building’ the density, and the third session completes the ‘feathering’ and ‘definition’ aspect of the procedure. We recommend 10-14 days between sessions to allow for adequate healing and pigment settlement.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes. We stand behind all our procedures with a 12-month satisfaction guarantee. From the date of your third session, you have a 12 month service guarantee at any of their clinics in Australia, so if a touch up is required during this time, it will be completed absolutely free of charge.

What if I lose more hair in time?

One of the best features of the treatment is its versatility. If you experience further hair loss later down the track or find your hair needs to be thicker in areas, we can easily increase the coverage. Sometimes, clients will receive SMP to add density to thinning areas and then later decide to go for a complete all-over ‘buzz cut’ look.

Does it hurt?

It varies with each client. Some points on the scalp may be more sensitive than others; for example, you may feel SMP more in the temple areas than the crown areas. Most clients remark they feel little to no real discomfort during the entire procedure – some have even fallen asleep!.

Do you have payment options?

MHRA offers 6 months interest-free finance through our partners ZipMoney. For more information, including terms and conditions, call or email us. One of our friendly team members will be happy to answer your questions.

What is the cost for SMP?

The cost will depend on the pattern of hair loss, the size of the area to be covered, and if any scars are present. As a guide, the cost for SMP for mild hair loss ranges between $500-1200, for medium hair loss $1500-2200, and between $2200-3200 for advanced hair loss.
