The honest version
There is no clinic in Cairns, and the nearest is North Melbourne — effectively the length of the country. Each session means a long flight, frequently with a connection, and a night away.
Across two or three sessions that is a serious commitment of time and money on top of the treatment itself. For some people it is worth it. For others it plainly is not, and a page that glossed over that would be doing you a disservice.
If the travel is the obstacle rather than the treatment, that is worth saying at consultation. There is no version of this where compressing the sessions into one trip produces good work.
Planning the trips
Two to three sessions, seven to fourteen days apart. The gap is not negotiable — pigment settles and lightens, and the next pass is judged against the healed result rather than the fresh one.
That means the trips cannot be merged. Two separate journeys, each with a flight and a night, is the realistic shape.
The climate, and the four-day window
Tropical humidity makes the post-session window harder than anywhere else on this list. Four days without heavy sweating and without swimming is genuinely difficult through a Cairns wet season.
Scheduling in the dry season is a small planning decision that makes a real difference to how the pigment settles.
Whether it suits you
Given the effort involved, certainty matters more here than anywhere. A preliminary conversation with photographs before booking any travel is the sensible first step.
Questions
Is there anywhere closer than Melbourne?
Not within our group. Our clinics are Fremantle and North Melbourne; Melbourne is the practical option from Cairns.
Can everything be done in one trip?
No. The seven to fourteen day gap between sessions is what makes the result reliable, and there is no way around it.
How long is the journey?
A substantial flight, often with a connection. Worth checking current schedules, since direct services vary.
Is the wet season a bad time?
It makes aftercare harder. Four days without heavy sweating is difficult in that humidity, so the dry season is easier.
What if I decide partway through that the travel is too much?
Then the work stops where it is. That is a real risk with a course that spans multiple trips, and a reason to be certain before starting.
Is a consultation possible before I commit to flying?
A preliminary discussion with photographs, yes. It will not settle everything, but it will settle whether it is worth the trip.
