Hair Tattoo in Newcastle
The look lives or dies on the hairline. And the trip, since our Sydney rooms closed, is now a flight rather than a drive.

There is no clinic in Newcastle. Treatment is delivered at Foli Sim North Melbourne.
Newcastle was a two-hour drive to our Sydney rooms and a comfortable day trip. Those rooms have closed, so treatment now means flying to Melbourne and staying a night.

The hairline is everything
Too low, too straight, too dark — that is the recognisable version, and once someone has noticed it they cannot stop seeing it.
The convincing version is irregular, softer than expected, and recedes at the temples the way a real hairline does. It is drawn and reviewed before anything permanent happens.
A coastal consideration
If you are in the water regularly, two things matter. The first is the four-day window after each session when swimming is out. The second is longer-term: sun exposure is the main driver of fading, and a life spent outdoors shortens the interval before a refresh.
Neither is a reason not to do it. Both are reasons to be realistic about maintenance.
Full shave, or blended density
A shaved look is even and predictable. Blended density softens the contrast between scalp and remaining hair without changing how you wear it.
Work on real patients

Treatment photography published by Foli Sim, shown unretouched and uncropped as released, with the clinic’s branding in frame. Each set shows the same client before and after their sessions.
These are individual results and are not a prediction of yours. What is achievable depends on the pattern and stage of your loss, your skin, and how the loss behaves from here.
What an assessment establishes
- 1.Which process is causing the loss
Pattern loss, telogen effluvium, traction and scarring alopecia look similar in a mirror and behave nothing alike. The examination separates them, because the answer decides which routes are worth discussing at all.
- 2.Whether it is stable or still moving
Loss that is still progressing changes what any treatment can hold. It is the difference between planning around a fixed area and planning around one that will keep widening, and it is judged from history and examination rather than a single photograph.
- 3.Which routes are available to you, and which are not
Donor supply, scalp condition, skin type and how the loss is behaving each rule options in or out. You leave knowing what is on the table and what is not, without a price attached to the conversation.

Questions about the look
Where is treatment delivered?
North Melbourne. The Sydney rooms have closed.
How soon can I surf again?
About four days after each session. Salt water and a healing scalp do not mix.
Will sun exposure fade it faster?
Yes. Ultraviolet is the main cause of fading, so an outdoor life means more frequent refreshes.
Can I wear a wetsuit hood over it once healed?
Once fully healed, yes. In the first days after a session, no.
Does salt water damage the pigment long term?
Not directly. Sun exposure that usually comes with it does.
How do I judge whether a hairline will suit me?
Look at healed work at several months on similar faces, and bring a photograph of your own hairline from your twenties.
