What has changed
Our Sydney rooms have closed. Newcastle clients were previously about two hours by road from treatment, with no overnight needed for any session. That is no longer the case.
Treatment is now at North Melbourne, which means a flight and a night away for each session. Saying that plainly matters more here than for cities that were always flying, because the previous arrangement was genuinely easy and this one is not.
Planning the trips
Two to three sessions, seven to fourteen days apart, one night each. The interval cannot be compressed: pigment lightens as it heals and the next pass is judged against the settled result.
Newcastle has no direct service to Melbourne on every schedule, so connecting through Sydney is common. Worth checking before assuming the timing.
Whether it suits you
The same clinical considerations apply everywhere. What differs is the threshold of certainty that makes the effort reasonable, and it is higher now than it was.
Healing at home
The gap is spent at home. Four days without swimming is the one constraint that catches people out — Newcastle beaches in summer are exactly the temptation the advice exists for.
Questions
Can I drive to treatment like before?
Not to Sydney — those rooms have closed. Treatment is in North Melbourne, which for most people means flying.
Are there direct flights?
Not on every schedule. Connecting through Sydney is common, so check timings before planning a session around a flight.
How many nights away in total?
One per session, so two or three across the course.
When can I get back in the ocean?
Around four days after each session, and longer if the scalp is still tender. Salt water interferes with healing pigment.
Can sessions be closer together to reduce trips?
No. Compressing the gap means judging density against unhealed pigment, which is how results end up too heavy.
Is it still worth it given the travel?
Honestly, that depends how much the result matters to you. It was an easy decision when it was a drive; it is a real commitment now.
